PoE (Power over Ethernet)
Power over Ethernet (PoE) sends both power and data to a device over a single Ethernet cable.
What it means for you
A PoE camera needs just one cable to a PoE switch or NVR, with no nearby outlet and no battery to recharge. Check that the camera and the switch or NVR support the same PoE standard.
