Cloud control
Cloud control means a smart device is operated through the maker’s internet servers, so commands travel out to the cloud and back.
What it means for you
It gives easy remote access, but your device depends on the maker’s service and your internet connection. If a service shuts down, as happened with Wemo, devices can lose features, which is one reason local control and Matter are appealing.
