Local control
Local control means a smart device is operated over your home network without needing the maker’s cloud servers.
What it means for you
Local control is usually faster and can keep working when your internet is down. Matter, Zigbee, Thread and Z-Wave setups are generally controlled locally, though a brand’s app may still use the cloud for remote access and extra features.
