Security key
A security key is a small physical device, usually plugged into USB or tapped by NFC, that proves it is really you when you sign in.
What it means for you
It is a strong second step and can hold passkeys, but it is optional for most households. Buy two so a lost key does not lock you out, and see our 2FA guide for official Yubico and Google options.
